RSVP FOR THE FULL WEEK OF ACTION HERE!

On April 22-24, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, millions of people around the world are going online for a three-day mobilization to stop the climate emergency.

Join us Friday, April 24, 4-6pm for the online Call to Action: Coronavirus and the Climate Crisis teach-in.

In the midst of the COVID-19 public health crisis, climate change remains an ever-looming existential threat, and there is no time to wait for one crisis to be resolved before addressing another.

We aim to center and empower youth and BIPOC voices during this teach-in, as well as Muslim and Armenian voices to honor the first day of Ramadan and commemorate the Armenian genocide.

MVMT-LA partners will host an online teach-in with policy and community experts about the three MVMT-LA goals urging California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to take real climate action and:

  1. Stop drilling for oil and gas in Los Angeles and California by ending new oil and gas permits with a commitment to phase out drilling all together starting with a 2500 foot health and safety buffer zone. (Wednesday call drive)

  2. Usher in a fair and just transition for workers and communities as we accelerate to 100% real, clean energy for Los Angeles and California by 2030. (Thursday call drive)

  3. Usher in a Real Green New Deal as a viable solution to the coronavirus and climate crisis by providing health, good green jobs and resiliency to all Californians. (Friday call drive
