National Climate Justice Memorial

Start: Friday, October 29, 2021 5:30 PM

End: Friday, October 29, 2021 7:30 PM

Throughout the day on October 29, we will be taking bold, creative actions in the City of London and elsewhere outside the UK banks and insurers still funding the climate crisis.  Together we’ll be laying the blame squarely at the doorsteps of the worst fossil fuel financiers.

As the day closes and dusk draws in, we invite everyone to regroup and join us outside the Bank of England to co-create a powerful National Climate Justice Memorial and demand that the UK stops funding climate chaos immediately.

We invite you to bring along and lay your own tributes to loved ones in communities here and around the world who are fighting the injustices of rising floods, wildfires and superstorms.

On the eve of the COP26 climate talks, we’ll hear the voices and demands of frontline communities, Pacific Climate Warriors and youth activists from the Philippines, for the UK to lead the world in bold climate action by ending the financing of fossil fuels for good.

Please bring a personal tribute and lantern that you can light and add to the memorial.

We expect to leave some elements of our memorial in place throughout the COP26 and invite everyone to return to the same place one week later on 6th November for the COP26 Coalition day of action at 12pm
