National Covid Memorial Wall - 1 Year Anniversary Commemoration

Start: Tuesday, March 29, 2022 3:30 PM

End: Tuesday, March 29, 2022 9:00 PM

The 29th of March 2022 marks the 1st anniversary of the National Covid Memorial Wall. We will be commemorating the anniversary, and all those we have lost, throughout the afternoon and early evening.

The day will include two opportunities to ‘Walk the Wall’ together, one in daylight and the other by candlelight.

From 3.30pm attendees will walk in procession from the Wall to 10 Downing Street to deliver a petition calling for the Wall to be made permanent. Please sign our petition here: https://chng.it/H4k8dMvJ4S

Attendees will then return to the Wall to take part in an interfaith ceremony of remembrance from 5.30pm.

At 8.00pm attendees will be able to take part in a candlelit walk along the Wall.

We hope you can join us for as much or little of the days proceedings as you wish. We are asking that everyone who comes wears something red, so that the vivid red of the hearts on the Wall is enhanced by us all wearing the same striking colour.

Please RSVP to let us know if you are able to join us.

We plan to display hundreds of photos of our loved ones all along the Wall on this special day, to honour their memories and to emphasise that the thousands of hearts on the wall each represent a person who was loved. If you have already sent us a photo for use at previous actions, you don’t need to send another one.

We are very aware that many people won’t be able to travel to London to be with us, so we are working on various ways to let you share the day from home.
