National Indigenous History Month Celebration

Delegates, friends and community allies! You are invited to join the NWDLC Indigenous Standing Committee for a celebration marking National Indigenous History Month.
We are honoured to begin
with an opening by Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Elders Sam and Les George, followed by
bannock and light refreshments. Come ready to learn and participate in
Indigenous and Métis arts, crafts and music. The workshops feature
beadmaking, wool weaving and drum making with song.
Hank
Williams from Səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ First Nation will facilitate a
workshop on how Indigenous oils are made with local plants, attendees
will receive a vial of oil.
Everyone is welcome to this all ages event, registration in advance is required to ensure there are enough supplies.

There is free parking across the street, on transit the venue is accessible by bus and a short walk from Canada Way.
