Netroots Panel: Take to the streets — how large scale mobilizations have fueled the Resistance

Start: Saturday, August 12, 2017 1:30 PM

In the last year, as political power has waned, progressives have shown an increasing ability to mobilize and get people into the streets. It started even before the election with mass protests of the #NoDAPL movement and has accelerated into this year. Join us as we take a step back and analyze how far we’ve come as a progressive movement, specifically through the lens of large scale days of action. We’ll be joined by some of the organizers behind events like the People’s Climate March, Summer for Progress and others as we discuss best practices and lessons learned from some of the largest global direct actions in the last decade.

We'll be joined by panelists Phil Aroneanu, Co-founder of 350.org, Nelini Stamp, National Organizing Director at the Working Families Party, Yong Jung Cho, Co-founder of #AllofUs and Paul Getsos, National Coordinator of People's Climate Movement.
