Congress of Neutrality: A Strategy for Global Stabilization

Context: Every year, hundreds of thousands of people are killed and tens of millions displaced by wars and armed conflicts around the world, from Africa to Asia to the Americas to Europe. This increase in violence demands that we urgently reconsider our global strategies and advocate for neutrality as a fundamental tool for building peace.

Colombia, land of diversity and progress, raises its voice to invite all the people of the world to join the International Congress "Neutrality: A Strategy for Global Stabilization".

Why in Colombia?

In Colombia, a great effort is being made to build a total Peace policy, in order to advance in the dismantling of illegal armed actors, prioritizing civilian protection and human security, likewise processes are under development that have as the center the issue of Peace in the country, through the agreements with the FARC in 2016, and currently the negotiating table with the ELN. From Colombia has emerged the proposal of an international conference for peace in Ukraine and Palestine. It also faces the crisis of climate change, demonstrating its determination to address both local and global challenges.

This Congress aims to discuss collective awareness of the problem, focus on neutrality as a state commitment, discuss actions for a true peace with social justice, and debate on the obsolescence of war.

We will have a full agenda of activities, during April 4 and 5, we will have more than 50 speakers, who will speak on various topics related to neutrality and peace building. Our activities will start at 8:00 a.m. Colombian time and will conclude at 4:30 p.m. If you wish to know the start time of this event in your country, please click here. The event will be hybrid, in person at the Congress of the Republic, Luis Carlos Galan hall, and livestreamed on Zoom (you will get the Zoom link when you register).

Congreso de neutralidad: Una estrategia para la estabilización mundial

Contexto:  Cada año, cientos de miles de personas mueren y decenas de millones son desplazadas por guerras y conflictos armados en todo el mundo, desde África hasta Asia, pasando por América y Europa. Este aumento de la violencia exige que reconsideremos urgentemente nuestras estrategias globales y aboguemos por la neutralidad como herramienta fundamental para construir la paz.

Colombia, tierra de diversidad y progreso, alza su voz para invitar a todas las personas del mundo a sumarse al Congreso Internacional "Neutralidad: Una Estrategia para la Estabilización Mundial".

¿Por qué en Colombia?

En Colombia, se está realizando un gran esfuerzo por construir un política de Paz total, con el fin de avanzar en la desarticulación de actores armados ilegales, priorizando la protección civil y la seguridad humana, de igual manera están en desarrollo procesos que tienen como el centro el tema de la Paz en el país, a través de los acuerdos con las FARC en 2016, y actualmente la mesa de negociación con el ELN. Desede Colombia ha surgido la propuesta de una conferencia internacional por la paz en Ucrania y Palestina. Además, enfrenta la crisis del cambio climático, demostrando su determinación de abordar desafíos tanto locales como globales.

Este congreso se propone discutir sobre la concientización colectiva del problema, enfocar la neutralidad cómo compromiso de Estado, discutir sobre acciones para una Paz verdadera con justicia social, y debatir sobre la obsolencia de la guerra.

Tendremos una agenda cargada de actividades, durante los días 4 y 5 de Abril, tendremos más de 50 conferencistas, quienes hablarán sobre diversos temas relacionados con la neutralidad, y la construcción de Paz. Nuestras actividades iniciarán desde las 8:00 a.m. hora de Colombia y concluirán a las 4:30 p.m, sí desea conocer la hora de inicio de de este evento en su país, por favor haga click aquí. Este evento va a ser híbrido, en persona en los espacios del congreso de la República, salón Luis Carlos Galán, y virtual en zoom (obtendrá el enlace al registrarse).
