Between 1910 and 1997 African Americans lost 90% of their farmland. This loss was a primary driver of the overall loss of generational wealth that some fear might never be fully recovered. Against this backdrop, farmer Will Scott Jr. and cowgirl Kitty Brown have not only been able to access land but have also gone a step further to provide access to the next generation of black farmers and ranchers for their growth and success.
