New York Stand Up to Trump Activist Workshop & Training

Start: Saturday, October 14, 201711:00 AM

End: Saturday, October 14, 2017 3:00 PM

The Trump administration has been working to unravel decades of hard-fought victories for people and the planet. His administration wants to build a foolish wall, dismantle the EPA, and give tax handouts to billionaires and corporations. Trump is counting on us to give up, and for him to get his way. But the stakes are too high. That’s why Friends of the Earth is holding workshops all across the country to help build the local grassroots power we need to put pressure on Congress to stop Trump’s attacks on people and the environment.

The goals of the workshop and strategy session are:

  1. Provide a space for activists to connect and develop strategies for how to protect our environment and stand up to Trump.

  2. Provide training on a range of grassroots organizing skills.

This event will cover a wide range of topics and skills including:

  • Developing a campaign plan and strategy

  • Campaign Actions and Influencing Decision Makers

  • Connecting the Dots: Intersectionality and Justice

  • Recruiting activists and volunteers

Our goal is to inspire and engage with activists and volunteers, both new and old, to fight for protecting people and the planet. The workshops will be hosted by skilled organizers and local volunteers. We are also seeking to collaborate with local environmental and social justice groups.
