Thank you for hosting a #DeFundPipelines delivery! On the next page, you'll be able to set up the basic details of your event - including the date and location. We've provided a list of many bank branches, which you can see by clicking the link for "suggested locations" - but you know your community best. Pick a place and time that works for your team, and on the next page we'll give you all the tools you need to host a great event, including a how-to guide, downloadable/printable materials, art-making supplies, and access to a community fund of money to support your action.
A few ground rules was ask everyone to agree to first:
1) We will act, educate, gather together and advocate in a manner that reflects the nonviolent democratic and sustainable world we choose to create.
2) We will center indigenous voices and follow indigenous leadership when taking action. When possible, we will also center communities who are forced to bear the brunt of fossil fuel extraction including communities near extraction sources, refineries, or in the path of other pipeline projects.
3) We will promote an alternative to domination systems by acting with love, respect, mutuality, compassion, and acceptance for the interdependence of all life, including the lives of our adversaries.
4) Our concern is for the safety of participants the surrounding community, and our world so we will not use or carry weapons.
5) Those who do not act in accordance with these principles may be asked to leave the action; they will not speak for #DeFundPipelines or claim to represent any sponsoring organization.
