Host Guidelines - Shine a Light on the 3% Case - Flashlight Vigils on Eve of Supreme Court Hearing

MEA and AFT Michigan are looking for volunteers to host a "Flashlight Vigil" in their area, so that school employees in every corner of the state can take part in this collective action the night before the Supreme Court hearing.

Sunset is around 5:30 on Tuesday, Nov. 7, so we're looking for events to happen between 5-7 p.m. at a public venue in your area.

We'll be reaching out to media to cover events where we have a critical mass of RSVPs from school employees, so please set up an event today and encourage school employees and supporters in your area to attend.

NOTE: If you’re already affiliated with an MEA or AFT Michigan group in Action Network, please choose that group as the “Sponsor” when you’re setting up your event.

Virtual events do not require a location, but virtual events with a location will appear on the event campaign map. (Those without a location will appear in search results only.) At least a ZIP/postal code is required for map placement for virtual events.
