Host Guidelines - Families Belong Together Community Cookouts -- Reuniting Immigrant Families Separated at the Border With Every Cookout

Here are the Host Guidelines for Community Cookouts. If you agree to this, then please continue and register your event!

NOTE: Once you register an account with ActionNetwork you will receive a confirmation email. Please check your SPAM folder if you do not receive your confirmation immediately. It is not spam, but some email services are confusing it as such. Please mark it as not spam and confirm your registration in order to move forward with hosting a Community Cookout. Email us at support@peoplesaction.org if you have any questions.

Your event can be private to just you and the people you know or it can be public and invite neighbors you may not know yet. A public or private event is up to you, and in the next sections you can make your choice and get all of the information you need to have a successful event!

To make an event private, there is a box to check on the bottom of the next page that says: "This event is a private event. Hide this from public searches."

For both private and public events, you can set a maximum number of people to attend if you wish. That box is also at the bottom of the next page.

If you have any problems setting up your event please email support@peoplesaction.org and someone will reach out to help you.

You will find helpful information about how to organize a Community Cookout in the next section. We will also send you more information about how to make your event successful. Thank you!

1) Use the following disclaimer in all emails sent to recruit participants, in all press releases, announcements, and other communications regarding the event:

“Everyone participating in this event will be required to follow all applicable laws and to behave lawfully to ensure the safety of event participants. This event will be peaceful, nonviolent and will not involve any violation of law.”

2) To obtain all permits and licenses necessary to hold the Cookout;

3) Not to request or direct, or permit anyone to request or direct, any participant of your events to engage in any unlawful activity.

4) To take responsibility for collecting and donating any funds to the specific bail or travel funds recommended.

Okay!
The shorter and more descriptive, the better.
Virtual events do not require a location, but virtual events with a location will appear on the event campaign map. (Those without a location will appear in search results only.) At least a ZIP/postal code is required for map placement for virtual events.
Select the timezone in which your event will take place.
Add Banner Image (optional)

Upload an image or banner below. Your image should be 1500px wide by any height (600px is suggested). It will be scaled to a final size of 750px wide.

Okay!
This is shown to people before they RSVP. Let them know what the event will be like and why they should attend.
