March Against Dakota Access Pipeline & the Banks Behind It

Start: Tuesday, November 15, 2016 2:00 PM

End: Tuesday, November 15, 2016 5:00 PM

Please SHARE and INVITE ALL to this Event!

PLEASE MAKE SIGNS for this rally AHEAD OF TIME!! Focus on the theme of pressuring banks to stop funding the Dakota Access Pipeline.

We will gather at the Eiteljorg at 2pm and then we will MARCH to:

PNC & Chase banks along the route that are investing money into the construction and development of the Dakota Access pipeline. People will be closing their accounts while the rest of us will Peacefully demonstrate that we do not support this investment as well as making customers aware of these investments.

The administrations and the powers that have be have made it clear that they are not going to stop the construction of this pipeline.
So the only viable option left is to try to cut off the funding. With out $$$ no project can go on.

A number of original investors and major banks have and are considering pulling their money out of the Dakota Access Pipeline project due to the inhumane and cicvil rights abuses being practiced by people behind this pipeline! Let's help support them to do this.

Agenda for the Day:

A) We will gather at the Eiteljorg museum at 2pm.

B) Begin our Day with gathering and setting intention

C) And then MARCH down Washington Street to PNC Bank to close accounts and peacefully demonstarte outside to let the banks know as well as the customers who will be coming and going that we DO NOT support their investment in this pipeline project.

D) We will then stop at Chase bank on the circle to do the same thing.

E) And then we will march back to the Eiteljorg to conclude our day with a gratitude circle by approx 4:30pm.

The major focus of this day of action Nationally is rally against the Army Corps of Engineers and other major decision makers calling on them to revoke the permits for this dirty oil pipeline.

However, here in Indianapolis, we have only a small Corps field office tucked away in a corner where no one would see us. We have communicated with the organizers of the national day of action and agreed the 2nd best target are these banks.

Pipelines cost money to build. The money comes from banks. If we put pressure on banks, it's going to make it a lot more uncomfortable for them to lend money to these projects. So stop the flow of money to build the pipelines, then we stop the flow of oil running through the land.

This day of action is one of many calls for solidarity actions targeting not only the Army Corps, but stakeholders at every level -- including the banks who are funding Dakota Access and the companies building the project.
