As we head into the fall we want to onboard new folks in the community about taking action – whether you want to risk arrest in the actions you take to fight the climate crisis, be a support person for those who do, or bring the skills to your own climate actions to help you and those around you be safe and effective.

Join Extinction Rebellion Seattle for an interactive introduction to Nonviolent Direct Action (NVDA). This first part will be online and cover concepts of NVDA such as action roles, the theory of non-violence, and some background on civil disobedience in the climate movement. Folks will be invited to a part two that will be in person and cover the de-escalation skills, quick decision-making, legal information, as well as some role-playing scenarios.
