This is a virtual event

This event will discuss the history of policing, what we are hearing around the country and locally, and where we are heading. Participants will learn about DCCADV’s current platform, hear perspectives and feedback from our membership and survivors in DC, and explore the different options for police reform.

The workshop will be led by Sahidah Briggs, Ujima’s Executive Assistant, Nikita Easley, DCCADV’s Policy Attorney, Cheryl Spann, The Person Center’s Training Coordinator, and Sloan Thompson, DCCADV’s Training and Outreach Specialist. It is designed for advocates and service providers who are working to empower survivors and their families in DC.

The training will be conducted primarily in spoken English, and interpretation is available upon request by contacting Sloan at sthompson@dccadv.org.
