On August 4th on Capitol Hill: Youth Climate Activists for 100% Clean Energy

Start: Wednesday, August 04, 202111:30 AM

End: Wednesday, August 04, 2021 2:30 PM

Please note: Your safety is our priority. Due to concerns about the Delta variant, we will be requiring masks at this event.

Are you a young person fighting to save our future? Or, are you a parent worried about the planet we’re leaving behind for your children?

RSVP to join us for a day of serious fun and serious action. Our goal is to gather with 100 young people of all ages to demand comprehensive climate justice policy from the Biden administration. We’ll join together outdoors near the Capitol lawn for games, speakers, music and prizes - while keeping everyone COVID safe.

If you/your organization want to support the cause but cannot attend this in person action, please sign a letter of support here and forward the letter far and wide.

President Biden’s and members of congress need to hear from you that the American Jobs Plan is an essential first step towards a livable future. Its 100% clean electricity by 2035 provision means that our country will take a leading role in reaching the emissions reductions needed worldwide. You can read more about the policy here.

Our government has a moral obligation to invest in our future. We have an obligation to hold them accountable and build the movement. The best way to do that is to raise our voices and bring everyone together, and what better way to do that than a day of fun.

Join us on Wednesday, August 4th between 11:30-2:30 near the Capitol to show your support for 100% clean electricity and the American Jobs Plan. This event is intended to be kid friendly, and will take COVID considerations into account. For FAQs please see this document.
