On April 3 at 2 pm Eastern / 11 am Pacific, Rob Faux of Genuine Faux Farm and PANNA discusses how he uses the principles of agroecology on his Iowa farm and how a food system grounded in these principles is more just, sustainable, and does not rely on pesticides.

Agroecology is an economically viable, sustainable, and socially just approach to agriculture and food systems. The principles of agroecology are grounded in diverse and complex systems that integrate science with local, historical and Indigenous knowledge and practice. Practitioners of agroecology emphasize working in harmony with nature and embrace the tenets of food sovereignty—including the right to produce and access nutritious and culturally appropriate food.

Agroecology pushes the focus of agriculture away from agrochemical corporations and towards a system that provides opportunities for more and diverse people to serve as land stewards and food producers for their communities.
