Peace & Justice Conversations: The Selling of War

Start: Monday, June 20, 2022 7:00 PM

"The Selling of War"
Historically and today, at all levels of media and education, and in most nations, but especially ours, nationalism and the glorification of war are practiced structurally and intentionally to convince people that it is acceptable to participate in state-sponsored mass killing. Join Dr. Leo Sandy for an exploration and discussion of how pervasive militarism and nationalism are used to sell war to young people and all of us. Dr. Sandy hopes to help us understand the ways we might challenge the persistent propaganda of empire and short-circuit the war machine.

We will use this article as a focal point: This Is Your War, Kids: Selling World War I to American Children

Leo completed his graduate work at Boston University in 1983 and has been a school psychologist for over 40 years. He currently doed adjunct teaching at Keene State College and Plymouth State University and volunteers as a parenting educator at Concord State Prison.
