Mary Westfall and Emma West Rasmus traveled to the West Bank and Israel this past February 2024 with a solidarity delegation of the Presbyterian Church. They’ll share their experiences, and explore ways in which they’re moved to act and speak for peace and justice in this dangerous time. They will also talk about the reality and danger of the Christian Zionist Movement.

Mary Westfall served as a Chaplain and Executive Director of the United Campus Ministry at the University of New Hampshire for 10 years while she pursued a PhD in Environmental Ethics. She then served as Head of Staff for the Community Church of Durham NH for 17 years, before moving to California. She is now Relational Co-leader of Coastlands Presbytery in NJ.

Emma West Rasmus grew up in NH, and now works as a Program Manager at the US Department of Justice. A steadfast Democrat for 33 years, she recently wrote an opinion piece for The Hill declaring a shift in her political allegiance after returning from a trip to Palestine where she witnessed the severe injustice perpetrated against the Indigenous Palestinian people.

About NHPA’s bi-weekly Zoom Peace & Justice Conversation Series: 2020’s upheavals brought us to a new moment of reckoning and possibility. How do we want to live in the world? What do we value? How can we make the changes we’ve been yearning for? NH Peace Action has been engaged in working for change for decades. We’d like to bring you into these conversations about issues and options for the future.  There is no charge to attend, but your contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated.
