As the civilian death toll continues to grow at an appalling rate in Gaza, Veterans For Peace has launched a walk down the East Coast to Washington, DC calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and an end to war more broadly. They will visit communities and churches along their route to share their message of peace, and why having been part of war, they still believe peace is possible.

Veterans For Peace is a global organization of military veterans and allies whose collective efforts are to build a culture of peace by using their experiences and lifting their voices. Recent campaigns include calling on the State Department Inspector-General to investigate illegal shipments and numerous violations of Federal law regarding Israel's attacks on Gaza and the PeaceWalk from Maine to DC. Both campaigns have active NH contingents that NH Peace Action is proud to support. Featuring Will Hopkins, Will Thomas, & Tarak Kauff.

Will Hopkins served in Iraq in 2004 and 2005 as a US Army Infantryman, and was decorated for valor for his tour which included the fall 2004 Fallujah Offensive. He served as the Executive Director of NH Peace Action from 2009 until September of 2023.  Will will be the incoming national Director of Veterans For Peace on May 1st.

Will Thomas is a lifelong educator, teaching US History and American Government in Manchester, NH from 1969 to 2002. In 1989 he became a member of Veterans for Peace and is active with NH Peace Action and the Palestine Education Network.

Tarak Kauff is the editor-in-chief of Peace and Planet News. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962 and is a lifetime member and former board member of Veterans For Peace.
