Progress 2023: For the Many, Not the Few

Start: Wednesday, October 18, 2023 3:00 PM

End: Wednesday, October 18, 2023 5:30 PM

For too long, lawmakers have prioritized the needs of corporations and special interests over those of workers, their families, and the broader economy. This trickle-down approach to policy making has resulted in new corporate tax cuts and loopholes, even in the current era of record-breaking corporate profits — and record-breaking inequality. What will it take to build a stronger, more inclusive economy that centers the needs of working families over corporate shareholders?

Co-hosted by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Montclair State University, Progress 2023: For The Many, Not the Few, will bring together experts, policymakers, and community leaders to explore ways to disrupt the status quo and put a check on corporate power. From progressive taxation to expanding workers’ rights and beyond, Progress 2023 will pose innovative ideas and structural changes to build a New Jersey for the many, not the few.
