Chicago’s public transportation has been in crisis for a long time. Many Black and Brown neighborhoods have gone without adequate bus and train service for decades, breakdowns and delays are frequent, and options for getting between the city and the suburbs have always been limited.

But now, the federal money that kept the CTA afloat during Covid is about to run out. Next year, our already-underfunded public transit network will run out of money unless we put pressure on state legislators to fully fund the world-class public transportation Chicago deserves.

Together, we can make this happen! We can win the funding we need to build our public transportation system better than it was before, and make sure that money benefits our communities. But we need your input to do it!

On June 1, join The People’s Lobby, State Senator Robert Peters, State Rep. Kam Buckner, and Alderman Andre Vasquez for a public conversation on how we’re going to rebuild public transportation for Chicagoland. This is an opportunity to tell your legislators directly what you need, and build the people power we need to get it done.
