Rally for DC Circulator Workers and Riders

Start: Monday, September 23, 202410:00 AM

DC Circulator riders & workers have a problem. The Mayor & DDOT are closing down the Circulator without a plan to take care of the workers or the bus routes people rely on. The solution is simple: DC and DDOT hand over the bus routes and Circulator workforce to WMATA along with funds to provide the additional service. Funding could be provided through selling unused Circulator assets. WMATA then can provide much of the bus service that Circulator used to offer while making sure Circulator workers don’t suffer from wage and benefit cuts by recognizing their service time worked at Circulator. It has been done many times before, including in 2019 when ATU 689 got the Cinder Bed Garage reintegrated into WMATA!

Now is the time to come together and ensure that Mayor Bowser and DDOT fulfill their promise to the public, workers, and DC Council to transition DC Circulator over and CUT OUT THE GAMES.
