Rally for Rafah
Start: Sunday, February 25, 2024• 2:00 PM
One month since the ICJ ordered Israel to prevent genocide in Gaza, there is no sign of change.
Israel’s relentless bombing and siege has killed thousands more Palestinians since the court's ruling, bringing the total number killed to almost 30,000, among them over 12,000 children.
The sheer scale of this horror can only be registered in numbers. But these people were not numbers. Each was an individual who meant everything to somebody.
Every day, every minute, without action means more loss of innocent life.
At least 17,000 children have been orphaned or separated from their parents. The trauma, loss and fear will scar families for generations.
Survivors are starving to death, with reports of people forced to eat grass and grind cattle feed for flour.
Under Israel’s blockade, Gaza’s health system has practically collapsed for lack of fuel, electricity, and medicine.
Now, a looming ground assault on Rafah, where millions of exhausted, hungry, heartbroken, displaced people are sheltering, risks mass ethnic cleansing across the border to Egypt.
In the face of all this, silence is not an option.
We call on all Jews and friends in the UK to join us in taking a stand against the shameful complicity of our government and communal institutions.
We continue to demand an immediate ceasefire, a hostage deal, and an end to the siege on Gaza.
No to ethnic cleansing! No to genocide!
Freedom to all hostages, political prisoners and detainees!
No to occupation and apartheid!
Join us in the struggle for collective liberation and a future of equality and justice for all.
