Rally for the River

Start: Saturday, August 07, 202111:00 AM

End: Saturday, August 07, 2021 2:00 PM

Rally for the River will take place on August 7th at 6 locations in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Join us in Seattle from 11am - 2pm to urge members of Congress to remove the lower Snake River dams for orca, salmon, Tribes, and families across the Northwest.

We will gather on the grass just north of Seacrest Park (1660 Harbor Ave SW) to hear from speakers and make posters. We'll launch kayaks, canoes, and SUPs from the beach for a short paddle to Jack Block Park (no worries if you don't want to get on the water - we'll have entertainment at the park).

If you have a kayak, canoe, or SUP please bring it to the event with a lifejacket. Otherwise, please rent a kayak from Alki Kayaks if you plan to paddle: https://www.kayakalki.com/events/rally-for-the-river/

Our event at Seacrest Park is accessible via public transportation via the King County Water Taxi from downtown Seattle to Seacrest Dock. You can check the schedule and fare information here: https://kingcounty.gov/depts/transportation/water-taxi/west-seattle.aspx

*All participants will complete a waiver before paddling; renters under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign for them. Lifejackets will be provided for all renters, and required when on the water. Single Kayak and SUP rentals are available for participants 16+, and Double Kayaks must have a minimum of 1 adult (18+) on the boat.
