Maryland’s Public Service Commission (PSC) is considering opening a proceeding to plan for the future of fossil gas infrastructure in Maryland. Twelve states have already initiated similar “Future of Gas” proceedings, which are vital forums to plan for energy affordability and meeting state climate targets over the long term.

On July 25th, the PSC is holding a hearing to consider the Office of People’s Counsel (OPC)’s petition to open a Future of Gas proceeding in Maryland. We need to rally to demonstrate widespread support so that Maryland can develop a thoughtful and strategic transition away from gas to protect ratepayers, health, and the planet.
