Start: Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 6:00 PM GMT
End: Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 8:00 PM GMT
This is a virtual event

The Fishers Racial Equity Community Network (RECN) is partnering with Showing Up for Racial Justice - Indianapolis (Indy SURJ) to offer a two-day virtual workshop for White folks who are engaged or aspiring to be engaged in anti-racist work. Part 1 will take place on Saturday, March 20th from 1-3pm. Part 2 will follow on Sunday, March 21st from 1-3pm. Attendance at Part 1 is a prerequisite to Part 2. Advance registration is required.
Building a racially equitable community in Fishers demands that residents of all races work together to challenge the status quo. In order to do this, White people must learn to work alongside BIPOC.
This affinity space will equip White people who know the basics about equity initiatives with the tools to:
Critically examine our own Whiteness and its impact on the existing work by BIPOC
Take action with BIPOC to eliminate racism
Create a community where all can be their authentic selves
You will be asked to complete some homework prior to attending. More details will be provided upon registration.
The workshop consists of speaking, slides, and video. There will also be facilitated breakout groups with other participants. Live captioning will be provided, and an ASL interpreter can be provided upon request. If you have accessibility needs or questions, please let us know in the registration form.
