Access to transportation is a basic need in our society, just as much as housing or health care. But in the United States, and especially in places like the Hudson Valley, investments and political decisions have prioritized the private car over either walkable and bikeable neighborhoods or quality public transportation.

Join Mid-Hudson Valley DSA for our monthly Red Round Table, discussing "Transportation as a Human Right," which will be held on Zoom at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20.

We invite you to come with your own stories about the transportation options in your area, and how your own life has been impacted by the options that are or aren't available. We'll also talk about the planning decisions that made the Hudson Valley the way it is today, and how socialists can struggle to win transportation access for all--including the example of DSA's own Phil Erner, Ulster County legislator, who recently passed a bill to make local buses free in Ulster County.
