What stories do you hear or tell about older adults?

In need of help, or ready to help? Silver tsunami or golden reservoir of talent?

How do you think about older people, and how might that be influenced by the stories in popular culture and media?

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore:
  • How general public thinks about aging and ageism in America
  • The negative effects of ageism—prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination based on age—on our health, financial security, our communities and the economy
  • Why changing our stories, based on research by the FrameWorks Institute, can reduce ageism and create a more favorable climate for the kinds of policies and practices that help us all thrive as we get older.
  • Specific strategies for telling a different story
You’ll leave with some concrete tips and examples, and strategies for spreading the word about reframing aging.
