Regenerative cultures help XR to be resilient and not burn out. This workshop will show how we can look after ourselves and cope with the grief and anxiety arising from the climate and ecological crisis, and support each other during actions, build a strong community, and demand climate justice.

The session will be conducted using Zoom. Joining instructions will be emailed to you before the event.

Training Description

One of our most powerful messages is that we are not going away. To be successful XR must continue for many years, and to do this we need our regenerative cultures to help us to be resilient.

This workshop will cover:

  • How we can take care of our own needs and personal recovery from this toxic system, coping with the grief and anxiety arising from the climate and ecological crisis.
  • How the regenerative action cycle helps us to form a team, prepare to take action, look after each other during direct actions and civil disobedience, and return home for a debrief and rest.
  • Interpersonal care and how we take care of the relationships we have, being mindful of how we affect each other, taking charge of our side of relationships.
  • How we aim to use non-violent communication, not blaming or shaming and accepting everyone and every part of everyone, listening to and observing not only to the other person, but ourselves and be aware of how we are all being affected by communications.

We will also describe the support that Bristol Regen gives our community. Listening circles are run fortnightly, these are places where people can give and receive active listening in a safe, confidential space.  We also run Cafes, Reading Groups, Walks and Camps, and our Sustainable Living Group. At a time of pandemic and heading towards climate and ecological crisis we need our regenerative cultures more than ever.
