Celebrating the Life and Legacy of
Morty Bahr
(1926-2019)

Starting with his enlistment in the merchant marine during World War II, through his early years as a telegraph operator and union organizer at MacKay Radio and Telegraph, during his long career at CWA, and finally with his philanthropic work in education and elderly housing, Communications Workers of America President Emeritus Morty Bahr lived a life of service and dedication to his family, his union and his country.

Please join us to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of President Bahr.

A reception will follow the celebration of President Bahr's life.

President Bahr had a passion for education and lifelong learning. In 2001, the Morton Bahr Distance Learning Scholarship was established in his honor at SUNY Empire State College to help adult workers with full-time jobs pursue college studies. His family has requested that those wishing to honor his memory make donations to:
