Rep. Yoder Office Visit - February 1 - Immigration without Racism

Start: Thursday, February 01, 201812:00 PM

After the government shutdown, Congress has re-committed itself to coming up with a permanent path forward for the DREAMers, as part of a larger conversation about immigration policy and security.

Unfortunately, a lot of this conversation is based in racist ideas about who is and isn't a desirable immigrant, and who does or doesn't bring value.

Kevin Yoder campaigned on anti-Muslim, fear-mongering messaging. Which makes his invitation to Sunayana Dumala to be his guest at the State of the Union particularly ironic. Dumala, a determined advocate for peace, is also the widow of Srinivas Kuchibhotla, who was shot and killed by a hate-filled, xenophobic man in Olathe last year.

Join us as we demand a stop to his racist messaging and hypocrisy, and demand immigration policy that's based on the inherent worth of all people and all nations.
