Rise for Climate, Jobs & Justice Eugene

Start: Saturday, September 08, 2018 1:00 PM

End: Saturday, September 08, 2018 3:00 PM

On September 8, thousands of rallies will be held in cities and towns around the world to demand our local leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us.

Meet in Eugene on the beautiful Campbell Community Center grounds for an inspiring rally to demand climate action, join in teach-ins from the "Change-Makers" in our community, learn how citizens are taking action and how we can work together for real climate progress locally.

Following the rally & teach-ins, we'll gather and march to Coburg Bridge for a demonstration to creatively (and disruptively) show our commitment to clean energy. (Should be lots of game traffic!)

Schedule:

1:00 Rally (with music, context and inspiration)

1:30 Teach-ins (concurrent presentations on how we're demanding action and how YOU can engage)

2:30 Comfort Break and Line-up to march (two columns)

2:40 March to bridge for public demonstration on east & west Coburg Road sidewalk areas (south side of the bridge)

3:00 Finale and two-minutes of noise and depart

Let's join with communities around the world to hold our local leaders to account and demand that they walk the talk on climate action. Let's make some noise!

When governments fail to act, it's time for the PEOPLE to take a stand! See you there!
