Save the Bees! MASSPIRG Valentine's Day at BCC

Want to have fun & make a difference this semester?
Come to MASSPIRG Day, learn about our campaigns, and help SAVE THE BEES!
We rely on bees to pollinate everything from coffee to strawberries to the hay used to feed dairy cows. Without bees, there would be no roses or chocolate - so no Valentine's Day!
When: Thurs 2/11 11AM-2PM
Where: BCC Cafeteria
Unfortunately, beekeepers report that they’re losing an average of 30% of all bee colonies each year. The main culprit is a class of bee-killing pesticides called “neonics”. Big chemical companies like Dow are fighting to increase the use of these pesticides, so we’re calling on the EPA to declare a moratorium on the worst bee-killing chemicals, but to do that we need your support.
On Thursday in the Cafeteria, we will be collecting photo-petitions to the EPA to urge them to take action to save the bees and save Valentine's Day! In addition, we will be launching our other campaigns: 100% Clean Energy, Stop the Overuse of Antibiotics on Factory Farms, Affordable Textbooks, and Get Out The Vote!
