SAVE VTA TRANSIT - April 16th Budget Workshop
Start: 2021-05-01 17:45:00 UTC Pacific Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-07:00)
This is a virtual event
On April 16th, the VTA Board will be having a workshop to discuss their budget. Transit is essential for over 100,000 Santa Clara County residents, especially students, seniors, and low-income workers. For people dependent on transit, VTA transit is the only way to access work, school, the grocery store, medical appointments, and everywhere else.
But now, as VTA is beginning their budget process, we need to urge VTA to prioritize restoring transit service and health and safety so that we can have a strong recovery for transit.
VTA has reduced service to 80%, and over 1000 riders are being left behind every day because of social distancing requirements. With schools and businesses opening soon, we need to get transit service back up to meet the demand.
Join us and urge the VTA board to include enough funding to run 100% of transit service ASAP in the budget!
