Hold Congressman Schrader Accountable: Oregon City

Start: Monday, March 08, 202112:15 PM

Since the start of the pandemic, women have lost 1.4 million more jobs than men. The job loss rates are even higher for women of color. Women need leaders who will stand up against the corporate lobby and who will boldly fight for policies that level the playing field.

On International Women’s Day, we’re asking Congressman Kurt Schrader to be a leader. In the past year he has voted against bills that help working women and working families, but right now Congress is considering the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act which will make it easier for all workers and especially working women to join a union and get a fair return on their hard work.

There is no woman-focused recovery without expanding collective bargaining rights. There is no commitment to equal pay without rewriting the outdated labor laws that created the gender pay gap in the first place. That’s why we need the PRO Act.

In the middle of a global pandemic, Congressman Kurt Schrader has continued to fail working Oregonians. He has voted repeatedly against policies that help hardworking families at the time we absolutely need it the most. Congressman Schrader keeps siding with wealthy special interest groups and multinational corporations instead of the working families of Oregon’s 5th Congressional District.
