SDEA DonorsChoose Workshop 1

Start: Saturday, September 07, 2019 9:00 AM

End: Saturday, September 07, 201911:00 AM

What is DonorsChoose.org?

DonorsChoose.org is a nonprofit website that helps connect the public with public schools. Teachers determine what their students need in the classroom and post projects. Donors support classroom projects through the website. Students get access to the tools they need.

Want to use DonorsChoose to bring supplies or materials to your classroom, but don't know how? Want to become more successful at utilizing DonorsChoose?

This workshop is hosted by DonorsChoose Teacher Ambassador, Kimberly Allard, and is open to all grade level teachers. To use DonorsChoose, your student contact time must be 75% of your workload or above.

Please bring with you:

  • Laptop - make sure it is fully charged. We are limited on outlets and extensions.
  • Ideas for supplies or items that you need for your classroom (start small - I suggest $400 or less) (you can use this document to help you: http://bit.ly/2YTBurx)
  • Click on this link to sign up and get a head start: http://share.donorschoose.org/pQqcb and be entered in the $25 drawing.

If you can't come to the workshop and/or you want to take advantage of the new teacher Welcome campaign, you must post a project by August 24th! This will give you $50 toward your project. If you have a match offer, it could mean more than $50! If you have questions, please email Kimberly at kallard.sdea@gmail.com. Again, use the referral link to be included in the $25 drawing. Depending on how many sign up, there may be more than one raffle prize. http://share.donorschoose.org/pQqcb

(Note: please remember to click on the referral link each time you login until after your first project is submitted. This keeps your new teacher status and first project under the Ambassador account, so that raffle prizes and any welcome donations can be distributed.)
