Seattle Climate Walkout

Start: Friday, September 20, 2019 9:00 AM

On Sept. 20, millions around the world are joining student climate strikers in the streets -- demanding climate justice and an end to the age of fossil fuels.

Seattle's #ClimateStrike is a full day of youth-led action, including a peaceful march and powerful rally at City Hall. Before the march, we’ll gather at Cal Anderson Park for Climate Justice Fest: an interactive, family-friendly space for everyone to learn, skill-up, play and plug in to the movement.

Will you join Seattle and global youth leaders calling for action at the scale of the crisis?

9-12pm   Climate Justice Fest @ Cal Anderson Park

12-1pm   March from Cal Anderson to City Hall (detailed route info coming soon)

1-3pm     Youth-led rally for climate justice @ City Hall

Climate Justice Fest is open to all, with trainings, climate movement orientations, music, interactive art and and workshops led by youth and adult allies (more details coming soon -- keep an eye on the FB event)

The festival, march and rally is being organized by a broad coalition of youth and adult organizations, including Fridays for Future, WA Strike, Climate Action Families, Our Climate, Zero Hour Seattle, Sunrise Seattle, 350 Seattle, UAW 4121, Got Green, Young Women Empowered, Transit Riders Union, Mazaska Talks, Amazon Employees for Climate Justice and more!

Are you an Amazon employee? Do you work at a tech company? Do you work in downtown Seattle?

Amazon Employees for Climate Justice invites you to join them downtown and march together to the City Hall rally, if you can’t join the youth-led Fest in Cal Anderson.

11:30 - 1pm Amazon employees will gather at The Spheres (7th Ave & Lenora St) for a climate event; join us! From there, we’ll march to City Hall to meet up with the youth and community groups marching from Cal Anderson. We’ll join together for the afternoon rally.
