Trump election theft or Biden victory? Preparing the left and the working class for the fightback
Trump's COVID diagnosis may have slowed him down. But his attacks on democratic rights in the November election were long ago in motion: racist voter intimidation, questioning mail-in ballots, and overall giving the impression that he may refuse to concede. Trump may try to steal the election or alternatively Biden may win it handily. The left needs to be prepared either way to fight for working class interests leading up to November 3, on November 3, and through the next presidency. The NPC has released this memo to help chapters prepare for different outcomes.
At our meeting tomorrow we'll discuss:
- How should the left and DSA fight back if Trump tries to steal the election? How do we defend working class voter rights even as we give no support to Biden?
- What should we organize here in Seattle to prepare for this outcome?
- If Biden wins outright, how do we hit the ground running demanding Medicare for All; Green New Deal; an end to racist policing, mass incarceration, and ICE
