Nurses and healthcare workers at Swedish Medical Center are going on strike January 28 - 30! We encourage all Seattle DSA members who are able to stand with SEIU 1199NW in their fight for a fair contract that addresses severe under-staffing and prioritizes patient safety. If you are able, join the picket line on DAY ONE! The strike begins at 7 AM on Tuesday, 01/28. The picket lines will run continuously at First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard, Edmonds and Issaquah campuses. The picket lines at Redmond and Mill Creek will run from 7 AM to 7 PM. The Edmonds, Redmond, or Issaquah pickets in particular need support! Guidance on how to show support on the line will be provided after you RSVP.

On Wednesday, January 29th SEIU 1199NW will hold a march and rally at Westlake Park. The march will start Swedish First Hill campus in Seattle at 3:30 PM and head toward Westlake Park. The rally will start at 4:30 PM at the park. Join us!

If you can't join us at the march or on the picket line, if you are able please consider donating to the Swedish Strike Solidarity fund. This fund will help support the workers on strike, and is especially important for low wage workers who will be most impacted by the loss of pay.
