With the pandemic, having a space to talk about socialism and be social is a great way to decompress from the oppressions we face in our patriarchal and capitalistic society.

Sarah R. is Co-chair of the New River Valley, VA DSA and she’ll talk about her work as the Chair of their chapter’s Childcare for All Workgroup.

Possible discussion topics for May Hangout:

• Why is childcare for all important?
• Should it be "affordable" to all or free to all?
• What kind of training, work conditions, pay and benefits should (unionized!) childcare workers receive?
• Why hasn't the issue of childcare received more attention by lefties in the U.S.? By DSA? By Metro DC DSA?
• Does anyone want to champion this issue?
