End: Tuesday, April 04, 2023• 8:00 PM
Hello once again comrades, join us for our fourth class of the re-launched Socialist Night School on Tuesday, April 4th! We will be continuing our classes on organized labor, with the topic this week being how workers and labor movement can recover from the grievous setbacks suffered over the past few generations. Readings and links are below:
Reading 1: Who Works for the Workers - This is an essay running down a handful of the problems facing revitalizing unions in the US, and approaches on how they can be overcome.
Reading 2: How Socialists and Trade Unionists Built a New Labor Organizing Model During the Pandemic - Workers want to be unionized, the desire is there. But what's needed is more people trained to organize workers who don't already have a union. This article goes into detail on EWOC, how it came together, how it works, and how it's delivered on providing training to new organizers.
Please note that attendance to the previous classes is not required to attend this one! These classes are open to everyone, so as always feel free to spread the word to anyone interested. Because this is a live event, please be sure and bring a mask as wearing one is mandatory while indoors.
