Solidarity With Standing Rock-Melle

Start: Tuesday, November 29, 201611:00 AM

End: Wednesday, November 30, 2016 3:00 PM

This is an informational presentation for middle-to high school aged young people, school staff and interested others on the background of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe's stance against construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, the on-going struggles and treatment of peaceful water protectors who have answered the call to support the native nation, and the impact any completed project would have culturally, spiritually and environmentally for the tribes, as well as millions of non-natives depending on the Missouri River for clean water. It is to encourage support of native sovereignty and rights, protest the use of extreme violence against water protectors and spur investors of the pipeline to divest and for leaders to act to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline.
