Join XR’s new national campaign #FundSolutionsNotPollution for an action in the Sturt electorate.

Friday Fiesta 22nd April - We are waking up James Stevens MP

We are sleepwalking to a climate catastrophe

Earlier in the year James Stevens fell asleep during a crucial vote on the Religious Discrimination Bill. When it comes to the climate emergency Stevens is also asleep. It's time to wake them up!

Australians are waking up to the physical, financial and emotional impacts of the climate crisis. We see see a government captured by fossil fuel interests whose only motivation is profit at any cost. Most Australians, along with the rest of the world, are awake to the fact that we are not "meeting and beating" our inadequate climate targets but in fact hurtling towards climate collapse.

Join us for a fun action with a serious message.

Time: Meeting at 4:45pm for briefing. Action from 5pm to 6:15pm

Where: Under awning at rear of Sfizio café, 89 the Parade next to car park. Enter from Osmond Terrace

What to bring and wear: Wear sleep attire: pyjamas or dressing gown, ugg boots or slippers, blanket or rug, bring a stuffed toy to cuddle, placards including Climate Action Now, mobile phone with loud alarm tone, or old alarm clock – prize for the most original costume

This lively and colourful action is part of a Friday Fiestas for the Future series. On Friday afternoons from 4:30pm we'll be targeting MPs and candidates in a different electorate each week. We’ll be joined by students and parents, bring your friends and family too.
