End: Saturday, October 14, 2023• 6:30 PM
Join us for a documentary screening and get involved in the Stop EACOP campaign against the East African Crude Oil Pipeline.
We are delighted to welcome Ugandan activist Patience Nabukalu who will be present at the screening and participate to a Q&A/discussion afterwards.
The struggle to end fossil fuels must be international. In Uganda and Tanzania people are fighting the East African Crude Oil Pipeline. French oil giant Total and the China National Offshore Oil Corporation plan to build a massive oil pipeline right through the heart of Africa – displacing communities, endangering wildlife and tipping the world closer to full-blown climate catastrophe.
Glasgow City Council is investing in Total and the EACOP pipeline through the Strathclyde Pension Fund which is continung to invest over £800 million in climate-wrecking fossil fuel companies.
Come along to this Glasgow screening of a short documentary at 5pm on Saturday 14th September at the Garnethill Multicultural Centre to find out how we can take action.
In this film, you will hear directly from communities affected by EACOP and activists who fight what would be the longest-heated crude oil pipeline in the world. The documentary screening will be followed by a discussion with Patience Nabukalu from Fridays For Future Uganda.
This screening is a collaboration between Divest Strathclyde and Extinction Rebellion Glasgow.
