On October 21, leaders from across California will gather for a statewide leadership training for a new movement of young people uniting to stop climate change: Sunrise.

Sunrise is building an army of young people to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process. At this training, we'll come together to learn about Sunrise's strategy, our plan to win, our structure, and the story that keeps our whole movement moving forward together -- and we'll prepare to take on the corruption of our own state's political leaders with an exciting series of events nationwide and internationally during the UN Climate Talks this November.

This training is for young leaders who are ready to take the Sunrise Movement to the next level together this fall.

LOGISTICS OVERVIEW

Location: 427 13th St, Oakland, CA 94612

Start time: October 21, 2017 at 9:30am.

End time: October 21, 2017 at 7:30pm.

Food: We will provide breakfast and lunch to all training participants.

Cost: Free! Donations to help cover costs are greatly appreciated.

Housing (for out-of-towners): We encourage everyone to reach out to their friends and contacts in Oakland, but will gladly set you up with a host if needed.

Travel (for out-of-towners): As a new movement, we don't have the same amount of money as more established groups (or the fossil fuel billionaires!) but we do have a bold vision, a plan to build unprecedented people power to stop the climate crisis, and the support of our communities. We're asking those who are able to pay for their own travel or to reach out into your communities to find support to get yourself to Oakland. Ability to pay for travel should not deter anyone from attending this training, so let us know if you are unable to finance your trip in the form below.
