Sunrise House Workers Strike and Rally
Start: Wednesday, May 24, 2017•12:00 PM
End: Wednesday, May 24, 2017• 1:30 PM
One hundred and twenty addiction treatment workers, members of HPAE, are negotiating for a first contract with the for-profit American Addiction Centers, Inc. (AAC), which owns Sunrise House, an inpatient detox and rehab facility.
Workers are fighting against unfair unilateral changes and for safe staffing, living wages, and improved safety conditions for both the staff and patients.
At a time when New Jersey is facing an opioid crisis, we need your help to tell AAC to bargain in good faith to create a safe environment for patients and workers on the front-lines of addiction treatment.
If AAC does not make a good faith effort to reach an agreement by Wednesday, May 24th, the workers will conduct a three-day Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) strike at the facility in Lafayette, New Jersey.
AAC's refusal to bargain in good faith to improve patient safety and staffing short-changes those seeking treatment.
