Movement leadership in Georgia already did what many thought was impossible. Because that’s what movements do. When we work together and follow the leadership of the most affected communities, we achieve things that are more powerful and more effective than what any political party could do.

In November, we showed up powerfully with our partners to oust Trump, and we’re going to do it again in January. We’ve got the Right on the run. We’re gaining ground they thought was theirs. And now we’re taking back the Senate.

The runoff races in Georgia will decide who controls the Senate - and whether or not we will be able to advance progressive legislation nationally. We know that the Right relies on strategic racism to make sure white people don’t change the status quo, even though change is something that most of our communities desperately need.

For the run-offs, we’re working alongside our partners to make sure that white people do their part in gaining ground in the South and establishing Democratic control of the Senate to have more favorable conditions for progressive policy for years to come.
