Governor Malloy’s proposed budget relies heavily on sacrifices from working and middle class families, including deep public service cuts, significant reductions in municipal aid and more than $1.5 billion in concessions from state employees. His “revenue proposals” are just as painful, including an elimination of the property tax exemption and cuts to the Earned Income Tax Credit that benefits the working poor.

In order to build support for a fair budget that is not balanced on the backs of working families, the Connecticut AFL-CIO will be canvassing this Saturday in key legislative districts to increase the appetite for a meaningful, progressive revenue package.
