Week Two (May 20 - May 26)

Linking Systemic Racism and Poverty: Voting Rights, Immigration, Xenophobia, Islamophobia, and the Mistreatment of Indigenous Communities

By engaging in highly publicized, non-violent moral fusion direct action, over a 6-week period in at least 30 states and the District of Columbia between May 13 and June 23, the Campaign will force a serious national examination of the enmeshed evils of systemic racism, systemic poverty, ecological devastation and the war economy.

For our second week of action we will be focusing on the link between Systemic Racism and Systemic Poverty with particular analysis on Voting Rights, Immigration, Xenophobia, Islamophobia, and the Mistreatment of Indigenous Communities. If you plan to participate in a specific role in the action, please join us at Christ Episcopal Church at 64 State St, Montpelier at 10:00am for grounding, final training, and logistics. If not, we will be thrilled have you join later on for the 2:00pm rally at the Statehouse, followed by the 3:00pm action.

Everyone who plans participate in nonviolent civil disobedience MUST attend a training. If you have not attended a training and plan to participate in direct action on May 21st, please register for the Sunday training here: NMFDA Training May 20th

We are one of over 35 states across the country and in Washington, DC heading to their state capitals on May 21 to force a serious national examination of the enmeshed evils of systemic racism, systemic poverty, ecological devastation and the war economy.
