Join us for a quick, but powerful, action challenging Liberty Mutual - one of the major insurers of fossil fuels and LNG exports!
New research out this week from Public Citizen, Rainforest Action Network, and other allies shows that insurers like Liberty Mutual are underwriting liquefied natural gas (LNG) capacity in the US, even though they've promised to stop insuring fossil fuels and align their insurance plans with climate action.
Chubb, Liberty Mututal, The Hartford Financial Services Group, and others are underwriters of seven major LNG export facilities. That include terminals in operation and under construction, according to documents revealed under Freedom of Information Act requests.
Join us on Friday, March 1, as part of a global week of action calling on these companies to Insure Our Future, Not Fossil Fuels. WE'll hoist a banner outside the (literally) gold plated front doors of Boston's biggest insurance company - Liberty Mutual. And we'll deliver thousands of signatures and comments calling on them to drop the Rio Grande LNG export terminal, in particular, which is up for an insurance renewal in March 2024!
